The Artful Angler

As dusk envelops the Metolius River, a solitary figure stands sentinel on the banks—nature’s own fisherman, the graceful heron.

Endless patience is the heron’s virtue. It calculates each movement, aware that even the slightest ripple could betray its presence to its underwater prey. Motionless, its focus is unwavering; the river flows, leaves rustle, but the heron is an image of serenity.

And then, in a flash, it strikes! The hunt, which seemed to be paused in time, culminates in a crescendo of splashes.
